Paris Brest never looked so pretty: The round pastry, in the form of a wheel, was created in 1910 to commemorate the Paris - Brest - Paris bicycle race. Its circular shape is forms a wheel. It became popular with riders on the Paris–Brest cycle race, partly because of its energizing high caloric value, and is now found in patisseries all over France .And the world!

Cakes in single tier, iced with hard fondant become the most beautiful cake stands. They can be "faux" made of styrofoam, to help increase their strength and stability as display pieces.
This season, it's all about the bow. On cakes, on mini sweets, on wedding gowns, on everything. Let them eat cake - with bows!
Pro tip:
Depending on budget, you can "rent" faux display cakes from bakeries to create a big, gorgeous wow presentation on the dessert bar. Made of styrofoam and fondant, they are solid and display beautifully, while stretching your dessert/decor budget.
We love to layer in personal details from the bride: an heirloom hand mirror from grandmother, or family cake stands, silver trays, porcelain to create a warm, familial setting.
Tarte au citron in it's most perfect, painted state. And look how it pairs so well with the matching painted garland on the dinner plate. Voila - c'est magnifique, non?
Everything looks better dressed in macarons. And we mean everything. Tastes better too.
As a gluten free family gal, macarons are a perfect accent for flourless sweet alternatives. Make sure to discuss with your baker, to ensure the recipe they use is in fact made with almond flour, instead of wheat flours.
