Once in a while, right in the middle of ordinary life, loves gives us a fairy tale.
Anniversaries are milestones. You pause, you look back on 50 years of marriage, and life, and cherish all the beautiful memories and promises fulfilled.
We are lucky and blessed to have incredible, long, glorious real love stories in our family. And as we know, real love stories never have an end.
My parents chose each other 50 years ago. And they continue to choose eachother, over and over, without a pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat, every year. Everyday.
Their high school sweetheart love: mom, the cheerleader, and dad, the basketball star, is the definition of two hearts that beat as one, having the best life together.
We wanted to celebrate their marriage blessed with love, joy and companionship for all the years of our lives.
We wanted them to stand together, once again, look into each other's eyes, and feel all the success and love, as we jumped up and down clapping for them.
So we dressed Dad up in a tuxedo, mom in heels, and hand in hand, they toasted to 50 fabulous years of laughing, living, trusting, forgiving and being together.
We wanted to clap for them, and cheer: "Yay you! You did it! Bravo bravo! You are incredible!"
So we did. And it was this magical.
Time to break out the champagne...
Mom and dad, you are our life. You are our hopes. You are our inspiration. You are our everything.
It is so important to stop, take a moment, and breathe it all in. To really celebrate your love.
