I’m Debi Lilly. We’re throwing an all-star sports kids’ birthday party today. No matter what your birthday party theme, the best trick for setting up your table, whether it be your kitchen table or your dining table, is really pull your theme in. Try and put everything onto your table to create a big, beautiful, colorful focal point.
You can see here we’ve set a red runner down the table. This is from BBJ Linen. You can just rent them. They deliver them right to you. We created a big fun focal point in the center with big Styrofoam hands, trophies, footballs, and little mini lockers. All of these things you can buy from party stores. You can rent from A Perfect Event. You can find online. They really dress up your table, for an inexpensive price, and pull your theme right in.
We then have set our food and our drink on colorful trays and on all sorts of different cutting boards. Everything is right here. It’s great to put out pieces that you can heat in advance. You can make in advance, so that you can relax and enjoy the party, and be with the kids having fun.
Hi, I’m Debi Lilly. We’re throwing a sports birthday party today. No birthday party is complete without games and activities, and really fun ways to keep the kids busy. Today, I’m going to test our model. We are going to keep the kids so busy that they won’t have any downtime.
We have all kinds of sports activities all over the party. Seven different games from baseball to golf, to football, to basketball, floor hockey, foosball, you name it. Whatever your theme is, it’s really important to put together fun interactive games that keep the kids busy. It can be board games or it can be video games.
Today, we’ve got the Wii going with all-star sports. Your theme can be very easy to think of fun things for the kids to do. It’s great to have extra hands and helpers to keep the kids busy, to answer questions, and to show them what to do. All of these are the secrets to having a really wonderful successful kid’s party, no matter what the theme.
I’m Debi Lilly. We’re throwing an all-star sports birthday today. One of the big focal points of any party, no matter what the theme, is the cake.
Today instead of just one birthday cake, we’ve set a whole sweets table which is a very big trend for kid’s parties, or any kind of party. It’s very easy to take items right from the bakery, or from your favorite grocery, but customize them and make them work with your theme easily.
We took a Styrofoam cone and with icing, right from the cake isle at the grocery, we iced on little mini white-powdered sugar donuts to create a big fun topiary or cone. We have a cute little sports rubber ducky right on top. That’s a great focal point on our table.
We have a couple of cakes here that we’ve customized, one in chocolate, one in vanilla. We’ve taken two different sizes of cakes, a large and a small. We’ve put them on top of each other, and then we added all kinds of fun kid sweets and treats like donuts, little mini donuts, whoppers, and m&ms.
These are new birthday cake Oreos which we sliced off, so you can see the colorful confetti icing, and stuck them right to the cake. This just took a few minutes. It really is going to be a very fun detail that the kids love.
We did the same to grocery, bakery cupcakes. We added little tiny Oreo cookie or little rolos. We put in fun little themed cupcake toppers, which are available to download right on our website. These toppers have jerseys with number one, but yet they say number 9, the age of the birthday boy. We added the birthday boy’s name to the back of all the jerseys.
All of these things you can print off right from our website for free. You can tape them to the top of a toothpick. You can top them on to your brownies, onto your cupcakes, and it instantly makes everything very thoughtful and very personal, and also really dresses up something that’s affordable, but you can do it quickly.
Hi, I’m Debi Lilly. Today, we’re throwing an amazing kids party. Kids’ parties are so much fun. Just as much fun for the adults as they are to kids. The first tip to planning the perfect children’s party, whether it’s your first birthday party or not, is choosing a theme that your child loves. As they grow up, they’re wild about all sorts of different things.
Today’s theme, as you can see, is sports. You can take that theme. Be it their favorite book, be it something they love to watch, be it something they love to play, and pull it through all your details, your invitations, your décor, your food, your drink, and your activities.
Birthday parties for kids are all about setting a really fun colorful display and having lots of activities and entertainment. You want to keep them as busy as you possibly can, and of course making sure that everything ties together.
