Our new baby!

Our new baby!

Yep.

It’s true.

We have a new baby.

New, but also, not so new.

You see, the the baby began as an idea, a tres fantastique Parisian idea,
about over three years ago.

I was trend spotting in Paris for a month, my annual summer sojourn,
soaking in crazy gorgeous beautiful everything: mouthwatering new party
food, cool new chic cocktails, fab fashion, quaint cafes, apartments,
hotels, boutiques, gifts, artwork, markets…I could go on and on.

I thought, we need a way to share this – the inspiring, the beautiful, the
elevated, the global glamour – with our clients, friends, and anyone who
wants to spend a few moments being carried away through photography and
stories.

I wanted to mashup everything new in the world of parties, celebrations,
special occasions, into a magazine, to help motivate us to make the time to
carve out and create more and more special moments and memories with our
friends and family.

What cocktail to serve up this season?

Where to grab a gorg new party dress for fall?

Who’s brand new in town for a bite and a burger with friends this weekend?

But that’s not all.

We also want to mix all of these hot new trends and features with our
lovely events, designs, flowers, paper stylings, and the overall excitement
that occurs daily within the walls of our sweet little studio and surrounds.

I just LOVE this, don’t you?

Everyday, our dream team at A Perfect Event, plans, designs and executes
amazing, elegant, swoon worthy events – chock full of fun.

And now, we get to publish them – ourselves – in the pages (screens!) – of
our very own seasonal, quarterly, magnificent magazine.

We want to share, share, share these stories, with recipes, DIYs, curated
photographs detail by detail…much, much more than our blog or traditional
social media allows.

C’est parfait, non?

Our new baby’s name?

A Perfect Event – the eMagazine.

Our premiere September issue launches September 1 – just a few weeks away – on aperfectevent.com

In the final throws of editing – we want to ask YOU – our dear friends –
whom we hold so very close to our heart – what do you want to read about
this fall?

What party plans do you need help making?

Whom do you want to celebrate, but just can’t get it started?

What trending (or classic!) color palettes are your favorite?

What is your favorite recipe to share?

What amazing DIY party decor did you just design, that you want to share
with our readers?

Send us an email, a facebook post, a tweet, send photos, send your
questions and challenges – and our entire team will be waiting – to answer,
feature, share and inspire in our September issue.

Be sure to follow along on the blog, Facebook and Twitter to see how we
concept, create, design and layout each storyboard – including tips,
trends, and spreads.

Just a few more weeks!

Are you ready?

Rachel, Catherine and I just cannot WAIT.

Debi, I went through a phase where I was creating a lot of tablescapes. It was during a period of unemployment, so I had to be extremely thrifty about my hobby, and had to stretch my creative mind to come up with a pleasing tablescape. Now keep in mind that I have nowhere near your talent, but I was proud of the napkin holders I created for pennies! (I am the queen of cheap chic!) This first link features napkin rings made with ribbon and buttons: http://bonnielane.blogspot.com/2009/05/tablescape-thursday-robins-egg-blue.html This next plein aire tablescape featured napkin rings made from paper towel ends, twine, and decorative buttons: http://bonnielane.blogspot.com/2009/05/tablescape-thursday-stellas-teddy-bear.html And since you’re in France, just thought I’d sure my Paris inspired table as well: http://bonnielane.blogspot.com/2009/08/tablescape-thursdayparisian-tablescape.html I have a ton of pics on FB too. Hope you enjoy!

These are amazing – you are some talent Kay.

Can we feature these in our premiere issue?

      Kay –

Do you have images you can email us from the posts featuring the button napkin rings and the twine napkin rings, and the burlap doll (did you make that too?).

Or, you can send them to us, and we will photograph as large image files, and send right back to you?

I see a feature in the making!

Seriously, Debi? Yes, I would be thrilled to send them to you! To what email address?

I didn’t make the burlap doll. I purchased her from a now defunct home party business, but she fit right in with my Teddy Bear Picnic theme.

It is a huge compliment to me that you liked my creations!

Oh, now I know what you mean by the burlap doll! Never mind what I thought you were talking about, lol. That would be Stitching Stella, an Aida cloth doll that originated in England. She was being sent out to a series of bloggers in the vein of Flat Stanley, and we were all to show her a big adventure. I showed her many and while with me, she did some traveling to the shore of Lake Erie, rode on a speedboat on the river, did a lot of shopping, and was even shot out of a cannon! If you’d ever like to read about her adventures, I could send you the links.
