Rise, shine, and celebrate!
Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday, as you know.
And we are up to our ears in feathers, masks, beads, babies, doubloons, and everything Mardi Gras.
Tune in tomorrow to You & Me This Morning, 6:45 am on The U!, WCIU.
Do you prefer to start your Fat Tuesday with a heart healthy, produce fresh Bourbon Slush, or the infamous N’awlins Hurricane – also made healthy with farm fresh fruits?
Did you know…The Hurricane was invented in the roarin’ 40s by the iconic Pat O’Brien, as a ploy to get rid of all the less popular rum that local distributors forced him to buy, before they would sell him cases of more popular liquors such as scotch and whiskey.
Ingenious.
The drink caught on, and as we all well know, has been a mainstay in the French Quarter ever since.
Let’s toast to Pat O’Brien this Fat Tuesday…bon mardi gras!

That’s super cool!!! Both the early morning appearance and the masks. Oh, and cheers to Pat O’Brien
Thank you so much John – bon mardi gras!
