Oh my. I am in love.
Valentino is out of retirement. WOW. Amen.
To die.
I must admit…I was dragging a bit the last few hours…trying to muster up a big (BIG!) blast of energy for one last holiday party tonight.
We prepped and potted and styled and stirred all night long – practically through to the morning prepping for a double hitter at ABC (the next show airs Dec 30th at 5:50 am, for How to throw a last minute New Year’s Eve Party for $100). So I am moving unusually slow this afternoon.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear…but miniature Princess Bride wedding dress sketches from every possible designer – my dear!
(Tory – this isn’t my favorite. And you usually hit it out of the park…)
This couture adventure is the exact pick me up needed.
Now I am inspired, back on my feet, and off to the celebratory races.
Reem darling, too demure. She has too much personality for this one.
Don’t you just want to sit with Miss Kate and ladies who lunch together? She’s so very cool. LOVE her.
Rebecca Taylor – lovely…yes…but not enough flair.
This sketch rocks. Glam. Gorgeous.
Adorable Parson’s alum and one of my personal faves Prabal Gurung…bravo. You are top five.
Amazing.
Love love love the ruffled pleated layers.
Nanette Lapore – whom I always adore – doesn’t quite hit the mark for me – but j’adore le petite enfant tending the train with the Eloise size bow in her hair.
Monique – yet again – you have outdone yourself. Does she ever, ever miss a beat?
A beautiful sketch and concept, no? Love the floral edging on the veil and the finish of the skirt. It reminds me of my dreamy pleated wedding dress.
Don’t love this one. But they are so glam it is worth sharing.
Probably my number one pick. Just the right mix of vintage, couture, the ruched, fitted bodice she prefers, and so much more.
Hot young thing Doo Ri is always tops of my list for her jersey designs – which Kate also covets.
Elizabeth Emanuel – while I don’t love the sketch – would bring a tear to the eye as the chosen one.
She, as you remember, designed Diana’s legendary, cream puff confection of a dress weighing 30 pounds, with a 25 foot long train.
It would be a poignant, important, meaningful choice, with Diana’s love for all things romantic, and of course couture.
She really should pick at British designer. But I of course am pulling for one of ours…
Like the ever charming Prince of Fashion Royalty, Jason Wu. This is simply drop dead gorgeous.
Love the dress, love the bodice, love the veil, love the something blue…LOVE. Top two.
Really, really understated but captivating. Gucci is always worth sharing.
J Mendel is always a favorite. Doesn’t this remind you of her lovely navy blue Issa engagement dress? Top three.
Karl, Karl, Karl. It is so you…so fabulous…so Victorian chic. Top four.
So, I ask you, what is YOUR favorite sketch? I want to know.
Isn’t this so much fun? Now, I am off to my holiday fundraiser with bells on.

OMG! The Monique Lhuillier is my favorite along with the Badgley Mischka. They have the right amount of glam with the right amount of romantic flair! LOVE IT!
