Wow – this hotel opening event is mind blowing. The hotel courtyard is straight from embassy row in the exclusive 7th arrondisment in Paris.
The lobby is magnificent – yet tiny and intimate at the same time. Fireplaces burning and white on white with vintage mirrors at every turn.
The 5th floor ballroom event space is jaw dropping, romantic, warm, and perfect. The charcoal gray and white panelled walls are harmonious and luminescent.
And the food – my word the food. At each and every turn there is yet another over the top taste of Paris – macaroon bar with mint ice cream filling, citrus fruit limoncello and gelato small plates, oyster bar, proscuitto carvers, tuna and hamachi with fennel, shrimp and beef cooked over a yakatori hot box…well there just aren't enough superlatives to describe each taste sensation and inventive presentation.
Most important, every step of the way was a pristine server yielding a silver tray filled with champagne flutes – bubbling in celebration. Yes, Virginia…there is a santa claus.
